Sun Yung Shin
Sun Yung Shin was born in Seoul, South Korea and was adopted by American parents one year later. She grew up in Chicago speaking English and knowing very little Korean. She likes to "explore how language plays such an important role in who we are and how we relate to other people," she says. Sun Yung Shin is a poet, essayest, teacher, and author. Kim Cogan
Kim Cogan was also born in Korea and adopted by American parents. Kim is an artist most famous for his oil paintings. A large majority of his work is not for children's books, but includes large cityscapes. He has won numerous awards and honors throughout the nation. Learn more at the following resources:
