About Me
Hello, I'm Kristi Loos. I'm a senior at Michigan State University. I am currently majoring in Elementary Education with a concentration in Language Arts and a minor in TESOL. I was also in the two-year Urban Educators Cohort Program at Michigan State. From my education at MSU, I have developed a passion for teaching in an urban setting and hope to do just that after graduation. I have also developed a philosophy that every student brings a set of experiences and background knowledge that is to be used as an incredible resource to build off of in the classroom. I believe that students are most motivated when the material is meaningful and relevant to their lives and also when their curiosity is piqued. For these reasons, I prefer teaching through inquiry as a strategy.
For right now though, I am a full time student and I work part time in the office of the Executive Vice President for Administrative Services at the university. My primary job is a receptionist, along with other random tasks around the office. I am also involved in Cru, a student organization on campus, which includes a weekly campus-wide meeting and also a weekly Bible Study. I love to play tennis in my free time and I also enjoy a little bit of yoga here and there.
